Curriculum Vitae

I am a Ph.D. student in political science at the Federal University of Minas Gerais, Brazil. I received an M.A. in Communication and Culture at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro in 2013 and a B.A. in Communication from the Federal University of Santa Maria in 2011. I am also finishing my B.A. in Social Sciences, expected in June 2023.

My research is focused on LGBTQ+ individuals’ political behavior in a comparative perspective. I am interested in answering questions such as: How do LGBTQ+ people make their electoral decisions? How LGBTQ+ identities are mobilized in campaigns in which sexuality is a salient issue? What are the substantial differences in the political behavior of LGBTQ+ individuals across age, race, class, and urban settings? To address these questions, I use mostly quantitative methods, but also qualitative approaches such as focus groups. The data I analyze is a combination of primary surveys and third-party databases.
